Larking around in the winter sun at Horniman Gardens – South London Forest Hill documentary family photographer

This was a lovely session just before Christmas as a Christmas present for the grandparents of this gorgeous extended family. Brother and sister Simon and Julia and their respective partners Sofia and Ben plus cousins Max and Tabitha and baby Florence.

Inspired by my blog article on heading outdoors even in winter we all braved the cold (that’ll teach me!) to head down to the Horniman Gardens in Forest Hill for a good old-fashioned run around and a play with the outdoor musical instruments. All snuggled up against the wind in winter woolies everyone had a great time larking about in the golden sunshine giving everything a crisp autumnal glow.
A quick coffee and a biscuit to warm up and it was time to head home to some central heating and a follow up session at home where Florence and Max got to have some cuddles on the sofa with baby Florence. And who could resist that staircase for a quirky family portrait!
I’m told that a tear was brought to the eye when they all sat down to view their final gallery. I hope the grandparents were equally pleased with what Santa brought them!
