So you’d really like some lovely family photos together – all having fun, enjoying family time. Photos that include you! But you HATE having your photo taken right? So what do you do?
We’ve all had photos we’d rather burn than show anyone and we’ve all had ones where we look great! Chances are you don’t know how to recreate the great ones with any degree of accuracy! As a London family photographer I’ve learnt a few tips along the way that everyone can use to make sure they look their best in photos – whether a professional family photoshoot or a phone selfie.
Ellen and Pete booked their newborn session a couple of months before their due date to make sure they could get their newborn baby photography session done within the first few weeks of the birth. In the end gorgeous baby Maisie was born a little earlier than expected and she was three weeks old by the time I went to photograph her in their home in Bromley.
Outside was a bit of a grey and miserable day – perfect for staying tucked up inside cuddling up to a gorgeous new baby.
This was an unusual one for me – to photograph an actual proposal! I was contacted by The One Romance – a company that plans wedding proposals – to take part in a planned proposal at the Shangri-la Hotel at The Shard in central London. My job was to capture ‘the down-on-one-knee moment’ as it happened – the emotion, the reaction, the answer! Eek – no pressure there then. I just hoped she’d say yes!

Spring was certainly in the air when I had the pleasure of photographing the gorgeous 8-month-old Henry with his mum Emily and dad Daniel at Greenwich Park. The daffodils and the crocuses were all out in full bloom and it was a gorgeous spring day.
