Drawing inspiration from The Shipping Forecast – a national treasure in its own right – Visibility. Moderate. Rising Slowly documents seascapes around the British Isles and explores ‘man’s’ place in the seascape. Presented in handmade journal/book form the series examines the vastness of the sea in relation to the onlooker from the shore, detailing the geographic coordinates from where the image was taken and utilising the What Three Words method of pinpointing precise location to reveal a language reminiscent of the gentle ‘unfathomable’ and mysterious terminology of the shipping forecast itself.
