It’s always lovely to get a recommendation: it’s even better when someone has seen your photos on a friend’s wall and they ask for your number! Last year I did some lovely photographs as a London children’s photographer of a little girl Coralie in the lavender fields out near Banstead. Her parents Emmeline and Russ had the image made up as a huge tray-framed acrylic from my Elegance range of wall art and have it pride of place in their living room. Their friends Natalie and Steve saw it and wanted something similar with their children Ava and Benjamin.

We weren’t able to find a suitable time when the lavender fields would be flowering this year that Natalie and her family and I could all make. Similarly we were too late for the cherry blossoms at Greenwich Park. And then it rained! But we finally managed to find a date when we could all do a family photography session in Greenwich Park at the Rangers House with their lovely rose garden, and the weather thankfully held for us – providing some amazing brooding skies as a dramatic backdrop.
Natalie said she’d feared the kids wouldn’t behave themselves but as is most often the case, everyone had a great time running around, laughing and exploring the gardens. The kids really gave me a run for my money chasing after them to get the shots. But I’m pleased to say these are some of my favourite images in the Rangers House gardens – the kids are totally in their element let loose; and those skies: just wow!
